The IQ Foil Women have been working hard work training this winter on their path for the 2024 Olympics and it has started paying off! After months and months of racing being postponed due to covid, and training being difficult to schedule, the team performed outstandingly well in the IQ Foil International Games in Garda recently. 20 Nations were able to be represented at this competition, and 2 of our British sailors (Islay Watson and Emily Hall) raced among 38 other ladies. These ladies included high end competitors from many disciplines, such as Sarah Quita (freestyle, wave, slalom) and Lena Erdil (wave, slalom). The competition gave a first insight into how our girls slot into the international scene and we are so proud to say that our country is part of the leading edge in this new era of windsurfing. Islay Watson left Garda with a silver medal, and Emily Hall placed 17th, next stop is the world championships in August where they will be joined by the rest of the team.
